Register Now! Understanding and Responding to Victims of Commercial Sexual Exploitation
Did you know that your organization may already be working with children who have been trafficked? Are you unsure how your staff can help identify and meet the needs of this vulnerable population? Do you need more resources and tools to be able to work with these kids who have already faced so many challenges?
The Texas Center for Child & Family Studies (The Center) is proud to announce its partnership with My Life My Choice (MLMC), a survivor-led and nationally-recognized organization that provides interactive training for congregate care providers, law enforcement, social workers, mental health professionals, and community agencies to aid them in their care of commercially sexually exploited youth. MLMC has been rigorously evaluated and is recommended in the Families First Prevention Services Act: High Quality Service Standards for Specialized Settings Key Considerations for Developing Residential Programming for Survivors and Young People at Risk of Sex Trafficking.
We are sponsoring their introductory training for our members and child-serving providers statewide, to provide you with the tools you need to better understand, identify, respond, and serve youth survivors of commercial sexual exploitation. This training is open to anyone who has a role in serving Texas children. Registration is free thanks to a generous grant from the Office of the Governor’s Child Sex Trafficking Team.
This two-part virtual training will occur Wednesday, April 14th, 1pm-4pm CST and Monday, April 26th, 9:30a-12:30pm CST via Zoom. Registration is required. Please register here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/YBKQJ2V and learn more here.
My Life My Choice is approved by the NASW for CEUs for social workers. Additionally, The Center will provide Certificates of Attendance to all participants which may be submitted to all other professional licensing bodies for CEU approval.
